Week One. Aly's post.

The muse I picked was Clio, because I thought she stood out from the others. Their schools were all things like 'poetry' and 'song' or 'tragedy' but Clio represents history.

The more I thought about this, Clio came to life in my head. She doesn't deal with abstract ideals or things that have multiple interpretations. Clio believes in the facts. She is full of knowledge and precise dates and never second guesses herself. Clio is the living record of the rise of mankind, and she is proud.

I tried to make this ideal of her in my head real though this photograph. It's very simple and extremely literal. This is Clio.

yikes, so this is the first entry in this blog. That's kind of nerve-wracking. I hope I'm doing this right.
If you like the photo the full size can be found here.Welp that's all folks.

  1. congrats on being the first to post!
    you rock!

i REALLY love this photo. i personally love your interpretation of clio - history has so many different turns, that it is only logical that clio (as a person) would believe only facts.

this reminds me of john singer sargent's painting of madame x! except, in white.
